Skincare Shopping Cart: Quarantine Edition
I know that we are all looking forward t the day that we can all resume our normal lives in a healthy and safe way, but one major silver lining in all of this has been the lack of makeup slapped onto my face. Although I don’t wear makeup a ton, this stay at home, aka no one to impress, order has really made me realize how much I hate putting on, and taking off makeup. Yes, it is fun to get ready and dressed up but I would much rather just do that with clothes. At this point I cant remember the last time I have looked at a mascara wand or over applied my bronzer… that said, it has really given me a chance to focus on my skincare itself, in turn hopefully making me feel like I need less makeup when I am forced to face the real world once again.
I don’t think I am the only one with this thought process, as I have seen many people sharing their new favorite products, and I’m excited to give them a try as well. The justification behind this being that I am forcing myself not to buy any clothes, although my jewelry purges have been at an all time high recently, therefore I have more leeway to explore the word of skincare to a further extent. Whether or not this new curiosity stems from boredom, I am not quite sure, but I am excited to see what it will lead to. My shopping cart at Sephora is seemingly full at this point, if that is even possible, so see what I am waiting to try out below.
Banana Bright™ Vitamin C Serum
I’m a huge fan of the Olehendriksen Truth Serum as my go to vitamin C serum, but I think anything new in my life is deemed extremely exciting at this point, so in that case, I’m ready to switch it, and anything, up. I would be lying to you if I disregarded the fact that the ‘banana’ aspect of this product didn’t draw me in… but nonetheless I am intrigued. With its promise to instantly brighten and plump my skin, I guess we will see if this banana serum lives up to the hype I have created around it in my head.
Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel
I’ve heard about this cult favorite in the beauty world forever it seems like, and now I think I am ready to see what all the excitement is about. With the claim of getting rid of pore, acne scarring, fine lines, and shine, I should have tried this years ago. The Alpha Beta® Gradual Glow Pad Self-Tanner for Face used to be a favorite of mine, so I'm excited to see if this product lands itself a permeant spot in my everyday skincare essentials.
DR. barbara sturm Winter Essentials Kit
Yes, I am fully aware that it is far from winter, and yes, I am also aware that this product is not available at Sephora. Nonetheless, I have been dying to try Dr. Barbra Sturm. I’ve heard that her products are absolutely worth their almost painful price point, but I still don’t think I can let myself purchase a $300 serum I’ve never tried, so this seemed like a better alternative. It features a full line of product so I can pick and choose what I might muster up the courage to buy, if anything at all.
ExfoliKate® Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash
I tried a small sample of this wash a few weeks ago and was hooked. Not only did it leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed, I could see a major difference within a matter of days. The tiny little bumps that weren’t exactly pimples but it also wasn't exactly clear skin really started to fade, and then of course, I ran out of the sample. All in all, I am ecstatic to have this in my skincare routine, and hopefully to see it take its full effect on my skin.
